WHAT EXACTLY IS A DENTAL ASSISTANT?
A dental assistant is someone who assists the dentist chairside and is able to perform many clinical tasks. A dental assistant can also be asked to do administrative work. For many people, this may be an entry career in dentistry.

I CURRENTLY WORK IN A DENTAL OFFICE AS A DA BUT I DON'T HAVE A LICENSE. IS THAT OK?
It depends on your state law. Dental Board of California allows an individual to work as a dental assistant without a dental assistant license, however, you need to complete a course in Dental Practice Act, Infection Control, and obtain a Basic Life Support certificate.

DO I NEED AN X-RAY LICENSE?
Yes you do. You need to complete a Radiation Safety course.
